Dear Opera friends,
On February 17, 1954, the organization now known as the Opera Guild of Charlotte was
announced at the performance of “The Merry Widow.” The Guild has since awarded 201
scholarships since it began that program in 1969 and donated more than $1.5 million to
Opera Carolina and its predecessor, Charlotte Opera Association, for production and
operation costs.
We are excited to continue the rich tradition of the Opera Guild of Charlotte for the
2025-2026 season! There will be lots of new opportunities for members this year in
addition to the traditional events our members enjoy.
There are several different ways Guild members have available to get involved and
maximize their membership. Whether it be serving on one of our committees, attending
special events or simply just enjoying our pre-opera enrichments, the Guild has an
expanded menu that should find something for everyone.
Each month members will receive our newsletter which contains news related to Guild
activities and other items of interest. Usually there are links where you can directly
register for events, purchase tickets to Opera-related events and more.
The Guild is governed by a Board of Directors that meets on the last Tuesday of each
month at the offices of Opera Carolina. Any Guild member is welcome to attend these
meetings.
If you are not already a member of the Opera Guild, we encourage you to join. Just
navigate to our Join Us page where you’ll find several different options that hopefully will
accommodate your interest.
Again, thank you for your interest in the Opera Guild of Charlotte. Please reach out to
us if you have any questions.
